'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' Episode 53 release date, plot spoilers: Trouble ensues during Himawari's birthday

The upcoming episodes of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" are building up to the much-awaited Chunin examination arc of the spin-off anime series. Those who are familiar with the manga and the first "Boruto" movie would know that the Chunin exams will pose a crucial development in the storyline, which is the arrival of the new villains. In episode 53, the Genins of Konoha will start to prepare for the Chunin exams, while the Uzumaki household will receive a special guest during Himawari's birthday celebration.

"Chunin Exams are fast approaching and while Sarada is motivated with the rest of the Genin, Boruto refuses to take the exams leaving everyone around him confused...after a long time all members of the family gathered together but then Uzumaki family was visited by a certain someone," the episode synopsis reads. From here, it can be expected that most Genins of Konoha are taking the preparations for the Chunin exams seriously, especially Sarada who is aiming to be the next Hokage someday. Although she will need to convince his teammate Boruto to participate because the examination process requires a Genin to be with a team of three.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 53 is titled "Himawari's Birthday." The title alone reveals that the upcoming episode will be focused on the youngest Uzumaki's birthday, although unexpected turn of events will spoil a supposedly jubillant event. For one, Naruto will not be able to attend his daughter's birthday physically as he will need to attend to his duties as the Seventh Hokage.

Boruto, who has issues with his father's lack of time for their family, would like to see Naruto being present on Himawari's birthday to make his little sister happy. Unfortunately, Boruto will learn that Naruto has sent a shadow clone to attend the birthday party, much to his disappointment. Meanwhile, Boruto and his family will be visited by a notable figure in the Hidden Leaf Village, Uchija Sasuke.

As Boruto's hatred towards Naruto increases, he will find an opportunity to prove that he is a better person than his father by undergoing a special training. Per the latest spoilers, Boruto will try to convince Sasuke to train him so that he can be a lot stronger than Naruto. Although, Sasuke has bigger problems to deal instead of training a young ninja. Specifically, Sasuke has learned of a new threat that has something to do with the infamous Otsutsuki clan, to which the powerful villain Kaguya belongs.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 53 will air in Japan on April 11.
