'Borderlands 3 release date: will new features include more characters, vehicles and customization options?

Gearbox Software has a lot of ways to go for in making "Borderlands 3" the best in the franchise. Steam/Gearbox Software

"Borderlands 3" may still be a long way off, but fans already have their expectations high about the highly anticipated Gearbox Software game.

According to GamesRadar, there's a lot of great ways to make "Borderlands 3" the biggest game in the series. Much of it has something to do with playing with its strengths.

The site believes that a little more focus on the vehicles will drastically improve the game since they are one of the most significant elements in the game.

More vehicle types for "Borderlands 3" will be a welcome improvement as well as more customization options and utilizations for the selection of rides that will be made available in the game.

GamesRadar also hopes that Gearbox will give players the ability to add weapons and loot or buy parts that can be used to enhance the cars in "Borderlands 3."

Apart from new and improved vehicles, "Borderlands 3" is expected to introduce brand new characters to the world. Adding cool new non-player characters (NPC), which definitely give color to the game.

Previous "Borderlands" are rich with these NPCs, and there's hope that "Borderlands 3" will not be any different. It is hoped that characters on par with the legendary baddie Handsome Jack will grace the "Borderlands" world in the upcoming game.

Interestingly, while it isn't final yet, Gearbox hinted that it plans to add a new character in the person of Scooter's son Scooper, whom Gearbox chief creative champion Mikey Neumann plans to make canon.

"I did this whole Scooter thing, then I pitch-shifted it up like seven semitones so it sounds like a chipmunk and it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard," Neumann, who is the voice behind Scooter, told Eurogamer.

"Borderlands 3" has no release date yet, but it is definitely Gearbox's next project. The company, however, is working on expanding its new game "Battleborn" with downloadable content.
