Big revelations should be expected when "Bones" returns for its 12th and final season in 2017.

At the end of season 11, viewers saw Brennan (Emily Deschanel) getting endangered after being kidnapped by her former student and assistant at the Jeffersonian Institute, Zack Addy (Eric Millegan).

During the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, executive producers Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson hinted that Zack's return to the series is still an ongoing story.

"There's a lot more to be told," Peterson said, as reported by BuddyTV. Collier added, "It's a long bumpy ride. There's plenty of twists to it."

Aside from Zack's return, actress Tamara Taylor also hinted that the final season of the series will feature more deaths, particularly from the recurring characters from the previous season..

"Apparently people are going to die," the actress told Paste Magazine. "We hope it's not us. Yeah, I think there are a few surprises. They're definitely going to kick it up a few notches."

However, the upcoming season will also feature a joyful occasion as Taylor's character Cam Saroyan and Dr. Arastoo Vaziri (Pej Vahdat) will get married.

"I'm so glad, so glad. I thought they were going to pull a fast one on this and make me the one that didn't get married," Taylor said.

But for lead stars Deschanel and David Boreanaz, the final season of "Bones" will be the hardest to shoot.

"It's the ending of an era in our lives, and for people who watched it and for these stories and these characters. I think there will be tears shed. You [Boreanaz] might cry more than I will," the actress said. Boreanaz agreed, saying that he will probably weep while saying goodbye to his character, Booth.

"Bones" season 12 will be included in the midseason line-up of FOX for 2017.
