The past is threatening Detective Danny Reagan's (Donnie Wahlberg) present in the next episode of "Blue Bloods" season 6.

According to the trailer and the synopsis for the episode titled "Unsung Heroes," the lives of Danny and his family are in danger when serial killer Thomas Wilder (Louis Cancelmi) resurfaces after managing to escape the detective's clutches in the second episode of the season. But this time, Thomas is not only looking for another woman to victimize; he is now aiming to torment Danny.

But it seems like Danny has other problems at hand as his wife Linda (Amy Carlson) is getting more worried about what the risks of his job can do to their family. Because of the present threat, Linda becomes more afraid for their safety, which makes their almost 10 years of marriage at risk as well.

In one scene in the trailer, Danny promises that he will be cautious as he chases the dangerous serial killer. But instead of being consoled, Linda becomes more worried and asks him about the cost of risking his life for his job.

Meanwhile, Danny's youngest brother Jamie (Will Estes) will also get into trouble with his boss in the upcoming episode of "Blue Blood" season 6. According to the synopsis, Jamie will challenge his superior Sgt. William Mulvey (A.J. Buckley) during an ongoing hostage crisis. Will this be the start of a problematic professional relationship between the youngest Reagan and his superior?

The official synopsis reads:

"When Danny and his family are threatened by Thomas Wilder, who is a serial killer that Danny has been unable to apprehend, Linda's concern will intensify over her husband's job as well as the state of their marriage. Also, Jamie is going to challenge his superior officer, Sgt. William Mulvey during a hostage situation."

"Blue Blood" season 6 episode 8 will air on Friday, Nov. 13, on CBS.
