Archie Panjabi will shed her private investigator suit to work in the government in "Blindspot" season 2.

After portraying the very remarkable role of Kalinda Sharma in the CBS legal drama "The Good Wife," Panjabi will take on a major recurring role on NBC's crime action thriller.

TVLine reported that Panjabi will portray the role of the head of a secret NSA division that has been investigating the case of Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) from afar.

This is Panjabi's next major TV project in the U.S. after "The Good Wife," but she also had a one-episode stint on Fox's police procedural sitcom "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." She was supposed to star in a legal drama anthology "The Jury," but ABC chose to not pick up the show in order to have it redeveloped as a true crime series.

For the second season of "Blindspot," Jane will be chased by Cade (Tom Lipinski), who remains alive despite being shot by Oscar (François Arnaud) in season 1.

In the first season, Oscar made Jane believe that Cade betrayed their group and told her that she already killed him. But he resurfaced towards the end of the season and tried to go under the radar because of his plans to go after her.

According to SpoilerTV, Jane will be shot by Cade in season 2, and she will bleed out from the wound. Does it mean that Jane's life will be in fatal danger next season?

The spoiler also mentioned that fans will learn more about the training that Jane had to undergo before she forgot everything. The upcoming season will also feature her running after Shepherd, the mysterious leader of their team.

Showrunner Martin Gero also revealed that Jane and Weller's (Sullivan Stapleton) relationship will get more interesting in season 2.

"So their relationship is certainly under extraordinary duress, and it's going to take some time to recover organically," the showrunner told TVLine at the end of the season 1. "Season 2 draws our most interesting relationship into a more interesting place, dramatically."

"Blindspot" season 2 premieres Sept. 14.
