'Blindspot' episode 19 spoilers: Mayfair's secrets unveiled?

Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Bethany Mayfair in 'Blindspot' NBC

The FBI will have their hands full in catching a gunman responsible for a bloody incident while Assistant Director Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) deals with her own problems in the next episode of "Blindspot."

In the episode, titled "In the Comet of Us," Mayfair will have to face some of her personal problems that are tied to her past. But the synopsis does not provide any specific details to explain what those problems are.

This could be a good time for Mayfair to deal with her own personal affairs since the FBI stopped investigating the death of Thomas Carter (Michael Gaston).

Meanwhile, the team led by FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) works to pin down the gunman during a shootout held inside a college campus. They will also look into one of Jane's tattoos for clues.

The synopsis for the episode reads:

"The team races to find the gunman when a shooting breaks out on a college campus during the investigation of a tattoo; Mayfair deals with problems from her past."

But could Jane and Weller's work relationship change due to Jane's blossoming feelings for her handler, Oscar (François Arnaud), especially since Weller is now seeing Allie (Trieste Kelly Dunn)?

"When anyone falls in love with someone it kind of clouds their judgment," Alexander told Entertainment Weekly. "In Jane's case, it's very dangerous. She has feelings that are resurfacing for Oscar. Of course, she still has feelings for Weller, though in the present time she's definitely giving more of her attention to Oscar."

The actress also explained that her character needs someone whom she can feel familiar with, and she just cannot do that with Weller because of his involvement with Allie.

"Blindspot" episode 19 airs on Monday, April 25, on NBC.
