Black Friday 2015: More shops will close on Thanksgiving Day

After consumers and retail shop employees almost lost time for family during Thanksgiving dinner last year when they opted to avail of Black Friday deals in retail stores, it seems like several retailers would like to veer away from this trend in 2015.

P.C. Richards & Son, one of the largest electronics and appliances retail store chains in the US, is included on the list of shops that will be closed on Thanksgiving to observe the US holiday even if other shops decided to open their stores for the Black Friday shopping extravaganza.

In its Facebook page, P.C. Richards & Son released a statement saying:

"It's our opinion that retailers who choose to open on Thanksgiving show no respect to their employees and families and are in total disrespect of family values in the United States of America. Now more than ever, we're making the pledge to ‪#‎keepfamilyfirst. Are you?"

Several consumers agreed with P.C. Richards and Son's decision, saying that Thanksgiving should be a time for their employees to spend time with their loved ones, while others expressed their disappointments for the retailers that have chosen to open during the holiday.

Other retail chains that already announced that they will be closing on Thanksgiving Thursday include the video game giant GameStop, Staples office supply chain, Half Price Books bookstore chain and well as Mattress Firm.

Meanwhile, several Black Friday deal predictions have been going around online one month before the busiest shopping event of the year.

According to Android Origin, Apple Inc.'s iPad product line is expected to have a price drop again this year. Last year, the iPad Mini was sold by Walmart for as low as $199 for the 16-GB model. Since a new iPad Pro product has been released, its predecessors are expected to be sold at a lower price.

The list of other Black Friday 2015 deals is expected to be released days before the stores open on Nov. 27.
