Beyonce and Jay-Z throw Mary J. Blige exclusive post-Oscars party in a 'garage'

Instead of the perfunctory "congratulations," power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z reportedly went all-out as they threw an exclusive, by-invitation-only party for two-time Oscar-nominee, friend, and music superstar Mary J. Blige. It was held at the garage of the classy hotel Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.

According to a report by ET, a source revealed that around 150 people were handed invitations, and that hotel guests were also given an early heads-up about the private event. The invite apparently stated that there would be "no sitting, only dancing" allowed for the night.

At the Oscars red carpet, Blige was asked for details regarding the secret party, she hinted at it by telling ET that "the fam is doing something big for us tonight. I feel really blessed to have people that care about me that much. I care about them that much and it just feels really good."

The source said that the hotel implemented strict security measures and even closed down main entryways in preparation for the night's gathering. Naturally, the hotel apologized to their guests early on, which proved to be futile as some guests apparently complained later on.

While other parties, such as the annual Vanity Fair shindig and the equally star-studded Elton John bash, were also scheduled for that night, this A-list party thrown by music royalty had stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Drake, Tobey Maguire, Whoopi Goldberg, and Usher on its guest list, among others. Also reportedly in attendance was 2018 Oscar-awardee for Best Director Jordan Peele, who made history as the first African-American to win in the said category.

The party may have been held at a garage, but it was completely transformed prior to the event. Complete with a huge crystal chandelier and posh black carpet, the garage at the Chateau was turned into an old-Hollywood lounge area.

Since the party was meant to be a private celebration, as of writing, the host and hostess and even Blige have not posted anything on their social media about the party.
