Martin Lawrence has confirmed that a third installment for the hit 1995 film Bad Boys will be made during his recent interview with Conan O'Brien.

The actor starred in the first two films of this franchise, together with Will Smith. Both films were directed by Michael Bay.

When the late night show host asked him if the rumors about the third film were true, Lawrence said that he believed so. "Yes, I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said it's real, they're working on the script, they're getting close and it all looks good," he stated.

Speculations about the possibility of making the third Bad Cops film had long been circulating, yet it is reportedly hard to match the schedules of the original team who worked behind the movie as well as finding a free spot in the hectic schedule of Will Smith.

Back in April, producer Jerry Bruckheimer informed Collider, "It's so funny because we'll get Sony real excited to make the movie, and then Will [Smith] is off doing two movies. And then, Will will come back and be real excited about it, and Sony will say, 'Well, maybe it's not the time for this.'"

"And then, Ride Along came out and was a big hit, and now they're all excited to make the movie, but Will is off doing something else," the hit-making producer added. "It's just trying to get everybody together to make it. But, we're working on the script. We have a lot of faith and hope that we'll do it."

The first Bad Boy film was released in 1995, and it reportedly earned $141,407,024 in the box office. Bad Boys II also made a successful box office run in 2003, earning $273,399,556.

Peter Craig and David Guggenheim are reportedly writing the screenplay of this American action comedy film and the movie is set to release in 2015.
