'Avengers: Infinity War' spoilers: Russo brothers talk Star-Lord's inclusion, Thanos and 'very different' plots for the films

Chris Pratt's Star-Lord in "Guardians of the Galaxy" will be part of "Avengers: Infinity War." Marvel

"Captain America: Civil War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently teased which superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe might join the fray in "Avengers: Infinity War," the definitive Marvel event that brings together a lot of characters in the MCU.

When asked which characters they are thrilled to work with in the film, Anthony said that he and his brother are fans of James Gunn's work in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, indicating that a character from the films will be in "Avengers: Infinity War."

That being said, it looks like Peter Quill will crash the party after all. Anthony revealed to Comicbook.com, "Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you'd be very excited."

With Star-Lord's addition in the culminating film, "Avengers: Infinity War" ought to be one extensive Marvel spectacle. Joe, on the other hand, hinted that someone from Asgard won't be left behind in "Avengers: Infinity War."

"I'm excited to work with Thor. They're doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he's gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he's gonna have a real emotional motivation after that," he hinted.

Getting into detail about the plot of "Avengers: Infinity War," the Russo brothers revealed to io9 that the two parts of the oversized Marvel event will be "very, very different from one another."

"It's not a part one and part two scenario, necessarily. They're just two different expressions. I think it creates a misconception that we're shooting them at the same time," Anthony explained.

Joe continued that the massive ensemble in "Captain America: Civil War" helped them prepare to work on the even larger roster in "Avengers: Infinity War." Screenwriter Christopher Markus, on the other hand, told Screencrush that fans will learn more about the films' big bad, Thanos in upcoming Marvel films.

"Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1 will be released on May 4, 2018 while Part 2 will be out on May 3, 2019.
