'Avengers: Infinity War' spoilers: New art hints at Iron Man as Soul Stone's wielder

Less than two months before Josh Brolin's Thanos steps foot on Earth to collect all Infinity Stones, the location of the last one – the Soul Stone – still remains a mystery. A new artwork from the movie, however, may have just revealed who has it.

The art in question, which gained traction on Reddit, highlights all stones – each of them featuring a picture of the character whose films served as their debut. The Space Stone, for example, has Captain America (Chris Evans) on it as it first appeared in "The First Avenger;" the Mind Stone has Vision (Paul Bettany); the Time Stone has Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and so on. The intriguing part is that the Soul Stone is embedded with Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) face.

This sparked speculation that the powerful gem, which has the power to absorb the souls and knowledge of those around it, may have been guarded by the "genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist" all this time. If not, he may be the one to uncover it in the film. It remains to be seen how it ends up in his hands, but Screen Rant predicts it may have something to do with Stark's brand new Arc Reactor.

Downey's character has been an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having kickstarted it with his 2008 film "Iron Man." Thus, it makes sense that he plays an equally major role in the completion of all Infinity stones, specifically the uncovering of arguably the most powerful of all –the Soul Stone.

Then again, there is no direct link between Stark and the gem so far so until more information surfaces, fans should take this with a grain of salt. They do not need to wait long for concrete answers, though. "Avengers: Infinity War" premieres earlier than expected, on April 24.
