Attack on Titans season 2 release dates for Volumes 15, 16 revealed

Wit Studio finally revealed that they will release the season 2 of the hit anime series, with Volume 15 scheduled to be aired on December 29 and Volume 16 set to release on April 15, 2015.

The next installment of the popular Japanese anime has been dubbed as "Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Birth of Levi." Its plot will evolve on the legend of Erwin Smith (Legion Commander) back when he was just an up-and-coming star in the Scouting Legion.

The setting of Attack on Titan, which is more popularly known in Japan as "Shingeki No Kyojin," is on the post-apocalyptic Earth wherein mankind is almost on the verge of being extinct because of the gigantic man-eating beings known as Titans. The show will focus on the journey of a Scouting Legion soldier named Eren Jaegar who made an oath to wipe out Titan race from the Earth's surface. The soldier was driven with his anger and is fueled by vengeance after his mother was abducted and eaten when he was still a child. Growing up, Eren's life goal is to seek and destroy each and every Titan on Earth.

The storyline of the anime spin-offs will be largely based on the very famous manga penned by Hajime Isayama titled "Shingeki no Kyoji Gaiden – Kuinaku Sentaku," or the "Attack on Titan: The Thief and the Soldier" as its English translation.

Initially, fans were expecting to catch the second season of the anime adaptation on July 2015, but the reports about those dates were said to be untrue since the actual season will begin airing on August 2015.

The first season of the hit anime series first aired on April 7, 2013 in Japan, and went on until its last episode on September 28, 2013. Since then, fans had been clamoring for the beginning of the second season up to now.
