It was a long wait to get to Attack on Titan season 3 but so far, the wait has proved worth it as season 2 has got off to a strong start both in terms of its quality of animation and the plot.  We can't wait to see where episode 2 will take things.

In this season we are seeing much more of Levi that in season 2. There was already some sparks flying between Levi and Kenny and we're going to see some more sparks flying in the next episode too as Kenny takes aim at Eren and Historia.

Kenny the Ripper certainly lives up to his name as he crashed onto the scene in violent fashion, killing Nifa among other characters.

Unless there are to be more deaths, Levi doesn't really have a choice but to go into combat against him. And he'll have to move fast as Kenny really did one over on Nifa in just a few moments.

With that all in store, episode 2 will have a lot of combat and fighting in it, rather than backstory focus.

The preview teases a fight-heavy episode 2 with many characters getting involved in the tussle, although Levi is the one in the spotlight.

All that fighting is reflected in the episode's title, which is 'Pain.'

Maybe after all this fighting in the next episode, the future episodes might tell more of the backstory of the Titans, which is what we're expecting from Attack on Titan season 3's overall storyarc.

Attack on Titan season 3 episode 2 will air on July 29 and can be watched at Crunchyroll or FUNimation.

It's a question that remains to be answered as to how closely the anime will follow the manga series that it is based on, which reveals Kenny is Levi's uncle. Kenny dies in the manga but it's not known which episode of the anime this season his death will feature in, if at all. Seeing as we're still early on in season 3, we can expect a few more episodes with this violent character before he sees his end.
