The clamor for the sophomore season of "Attack on Titan" continues two years after the finale of season 1 aired.

According to reports, season 2 of the fan-favorite anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama's post-apocalyptic dark fantasy manga is currently in production. However, sources claim that the show is facing several problems because of the plot for the upcoming season.

GameNGuide revealed that the writers of "Attack on Titan" season 2 experienced several challenges regarding the direction of the story. But it was also revealed that manga publisher Kodansha finally decided that the anime adaptation could include the "Clash of the Titans" and the "Uprising" arcs of the manga when the animated series returns for second installment.

Other reports claimed that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will feature the introduction of a new Titan who can change its form into a human being. According to Vine Report, the new Titan will be called Zeke. He is described as a monster who is particularly keen on using the 3D maneuvering gear and knows how to communicate just like an ordinary human being.

Reports also revealed that the new season of "Attack on Titan" will also shed light on Krista Lenz's true identity. Fans of the franchise found out the Krista's real name is Historia Reiss, and she is the illegitimate daughter and only true heir to the throne of King Rod Reiss. Could this have an effect on job at the Survey Corps?

There are also speculations claiming that Krista might also develop a romantic relationship with Eren Yeager. Their relationship seemed to be hinted in the manga, which means that it will be bound to happen in the anime as well.

At the moment, Wit Studio has yet to announce the official release date of "Attack on Titan" season 2, but speculations claimed that it will be released in February 2017.
