Atlus USA confirmed that "Attack on Titan" fans in North America and Europe can finally get their hands on "Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains" this month. The game is the highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS game adaptation of the widely popular anime.

The upcoming third-person action game revolves around the events that happen during the first season of the anime based on Hajime Isayama's best-selling manga with the same title. Gamers can play using multiple characters in the game, including the lead character Eren Yeager, his sister Mikasa Ackerman, their childhood friend Armin Arlert, Captain Levi, as well as fellow cadet Sasha Blouse. But according to Atlus representative Michael Manzanares, it is very important to pick the ideal one to play because each has their own powers.

"Every character handles differently," Manzanares said. "For instance, Eren's the only one who can transform into a Titan, while such powerful soldiers as Mikasa and Levi have an easier time performing critical hits on Titans unlike, say, Armin or Sasha, who are better in supporting roles."

Players are also allowed to make their own character or customize the existing ones.

According to the Atlus representative, "Every facet of your character can be upgraded. But while there are such vanity options as costumes, faces and voice sets, when adventuring out in the world, you'll need to be mindful of your personal melee strength, ranged accuracy and maneuverability, as well as your weapons and omni-directional mobility gear upgrades."

But while the upcoming "Attack on Titan" game comes to Nintendo 3DS in the U.S. on May 12, European players might need to wait a little longer until the game publisher sorts out a copyright issue in the region. It might also come in a different name due to the same cause, which means that it could be sold under its original Japanese name "Shingeki no Kojin: Humanity in Chains" in Europe.

"Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains" will be available for $39.99 exclusively on eShops, and it will come with a free "Attack on Titan" Nintendo 3DS theme upon release.
