Before its official launch in India this week, the Asus ZenFone 2 is already featured on the website of gadget retailer Flipkart, with the page showing a timer that counts down to April 23.  Those who wish to "stay up-to-date with the launch" can enter their email address to receive a notification that will signify the availability of the product.

The latest version of the popular mobile smartphone line from Asus is expected to show several improved specs compared to its predecessor. The new device has a 5.5-inch LCD screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It is equipped with a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor that clocks at 2.3 GHz. It also has several internal storage options to choose from, namely 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB, but all of these have a built-in microSD slot that can accommodate up to an additional 64 GB. There are also two RAM capacities to choose from: 2 GB and 4 GB.

Also, all versions of the Asus ZenFone 2 come with a 13-megapixel primary camera, which reportedly features a Super HDR that can come up with up to 400 percent improved contrast, and a Low Light mode that allows users to capture images better under low light conditions. Meanwhile, the 5-megapixel front-facing selfie camera comes with the Beautfication Mode that lets users edit and improve their selfie shots using "digital makeup." This camera can be used for taking 140-degree shots as well.

The device also has the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system straight out of the box.

The Asus ZenFone 2 was first released in Taiwan on March 9, and India will get it on April 23. However, its U.S. release date is still not finalized at the moment.
