System Era Softworks, the developer and publisher of "Astroneer," announced that the game about aerospace industry, interplanetary exploration and base-building is now on sale at 20% off on Steam until Mar. 16.

Joe "staymighty" Tirado, the communications officer at System Era, working on "Astroneer," announced the news via Steam Community on Mar. 10. Tirado remarked that the ongoing sale will "most likely the lowest price 'Astroneer' will go during Early Access" and possibly the last time the game will be on sale before the official release of the game. Tirado also said that the new updates for the game next week will include new power management tool and new rovers. Meanwhile, the update this week which features splitters discussed by the game's engineer Elijah O'Rear and power system skill ceilings explained by the game's designer Samantha Kalman were discussed in the Vlog 028 of the developers.

According to the Steam page of the game, "Astroneer" takes place in a 25th-century gold rush. This time, however, the hunt for the precious metals is set in the frontiers of the outer space. Players must risk their lives living in the hostile environments for an opportunity to gather the most amount of gold.

To be able to survive on the procedurally generated planets and moons, players must reshape their world by means of altering and deforming the terrain like one would do a Play-Doh. Players are also tasked to extract and gather precious resources from planets and moons. These resources can be traded or crafted into new tools, vehicles and modules to create everything from massive industrial bases to mobile rover bases.

The game allows for a four-player online drop-in/ drop-out cooperative gameplay (co-op) that will allow players to enjoy the game together with their friends. In addition, the minimum and recommended system requirements for Microsoft Windows are listed on the Steam page of the game.

"Astroneer" currently retails at $15.99.
