Apple iPad Pro 2 release date, specs update: Three iterations to come out in 2017?

The iPad Pro lineup that is currently available in the market Apple

Despite the rumored unveiling during Apple Inc.'s highly anticipated product launch in September, speculations claim that the iPad Pro 2 might still take a while before it can be released.

Apple Insider spotted a report from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo saying that the second-generation of iPad Pro and its two other variations will reach the market sometime in 2017.

According to Kuo, the Cupertino-based tech firm is planning to release a new iPad Pro version that comes with a 10.5-inch screen. He also said that aside from the normal 12.9-inch model, iPad Pro 2 will now have a more affordable 9.7-inch iPad Pro version. The smaller iPad Pro will could be the company's replacement for the iPad Air 2 that was released in October 2014. However, Kuo could not confirm where he got the information from.

Meanwhile, another report claims that Apple Inc. will use its own A10X system-on-chip that has TSMC's 10nm process on both the 10.5-inch and the 12.9-inch variant. On the other hand, the 9.7-inch model will have the A9X processor just like the currently existing iPad models.

Yet those who were present during the developer conference of Apple Inc. may not recall that the tech giant remains tight-lipped about the new devices during the company's September 7 event. Then Value Walk also added that Apple Inc. insiders have never heard of any information about the devices' release during the company's developers conference back in June.

Tech Radar also pointed out the reports claiming that the next versions of iPad Pro might come out with a curved AMOLED display, which is also rumored to be featured in the so-called iPhone 8. But the Cupertino-based company has yet to confirm the rumors about the iPad Pro 2's specs and release date details that continue to be talked about in various websites.
