iPad Air 3 release date March 15 with new iPhone?

iPad Air 2 Apple

If the latest report is any indication, Apple will introduce a new batch of offerings next month. One of these new outings is apparently the iPad Air 3, which was originally expected to be unveiled last year.

Engadget shared a purported dimensional sketch of the slate, where the tablet was shown donning relatively the same design language as that of its predecessor. But it does bring forth a bit of an iPad Pro vibe with some of its features.

The supposed iPad Air 3 in the illustration has quad speakers like its giant brother and even has a Smart Connector, which hints that the tablet will come with accessories such as a Pencil. The leak also shows that the slate may finally get a LED flash for the camera.

To accommodate these changes, Apple had to bulk up the build of the device. The sketch shows that the iPad Air 3 will be 0.05 mm thicker and 0.1 mm wider than the one before it.

As for previous rumors regarding the specs, there's word that the tablet will sport a 9.7-inch display with a stellar 4K resolution. For now, those are the only aspects of the specs sheet the grapevine has managed to dig up.

The iPad Air 3 is rumored to be released by Apple on March 15 along with the long-rumored Apple iPhone 5se, which is said to be an all new and upgraded iPhone with a smaller 4-inch display. There will apparently be new bands for the Apple Watch as well.

In line with this, there will reportedly be a whole new band line made of new material, multiple new colors for the rubber Sport Bands and Hermes bands and a black version of the Milanese Loop.

The iPad Air 3 seems to be all set for its release but 9to5mac cautions that the date of the event is still subject to change.
