Android Wear new update to offer features similar to Apple Watch

It seems like Google is already planning a new update for the Android Wear operating system — just a few days after the Android 5.1.1 update for wearable devices came out — and it will allegedly be released with better features compared to the old one.

A recent report posted by ZDNet claims that Android Wear devices may soon have the capability to communicate with each other. It mentions that the upcoming features, which were initially exclusive for Apple devices, will eventually be enjoyed when the next-generation of Android Wear comes out. Some of these possible features are Wi-Fi support, as well as the app that can be used to draw on the watch face and eventually translate the drawing to become an emoji.

Another cool feature that is expected to come to Android Wear is the alleged watch-to-watch messaging called Together, wherein users will be able to send doodles to a different Android Wear-powered device. This also used to be offered exclusively by Apple Inc. for their Apple Watch product line, reportedly allowing users to send messages to each other. Google might soon begin offering the same feature. Also, the reported code strings meant for the Together app suggest that pictures, doodles stickers, and messages will soon be accessible.

There are also reports claiming that the next version of Android Wear will include a single tap gesture capability as an added feature in its next smartwatch product line. This could be very useful for the interactive features of the upcoming smartwatches.

Most of the time, the smartwatch's launcher can be easily activated using the single tap technology, but developers are now looking for other ways to maximize the use this technology, and Google is starting to follow their lead. They would reportedly like to come up with more interactive features that will also utilize the said technology, which could be included in the next version of their wearable operating system.

Some of the basic features that comes with Android Wear include Maps, Notifications, Media/ Music Control, Camera, Calendar, as well as accessibility to third-party apps.

At the moment, there is no official release date for the next version of Android Wear.
