Evan Peters's new look is being linked to the plot of "American Horror Story" season 6.

On Wednesday, the 29-year-old actor posted a selfie on his Instagram showing his very obvious transformation.

They typically clean-shaven actor, who appeared in all the previous five seasons of "American Horror Story," is now growing a thick beard around his face. This ignited a lot of rumors saying that Peters's new look has something to do with the plot of the horror anthology's season 6.

In the previous installment of the "American Horror Story" anthology, Peters portrayed the role of the chic and polished yet twisted and sadistic hotel founder James Patrick March. If speculations turn out to be true, the actor's next character in the series will be more rugged and unkempt.

However, Peters and series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk remain mum about the possible theme for the next installment of the horror anthology series.

Meanwhile, Peters's co-star Denis O'Hare revealed to Gold Derby that he had a clue about the plot of "American Horror Story" season 6 until the writers decided to change it.

"I did talk to the writers a while ago and I got a little inkling [about the theme] or something, and when I re-approached them, they were like, 'Oh, no, no. no. 'That's done now. That's changed,'" the actor explained.

O'Hare also said that changing plots before the season starts filming is not unusual for the writers of the show.

"They always start out with a really strong idea, but as they begin to work on the idea, things morph," the actor said. "So I am looking forward to whatever it is. I can't wait to get back on the playground."

Murphy revealed during this year's PaleyFest that he and the writers are still undecided about the theme for "American Horror Story" season 6.
