'American Horror Story' season 6 spoilers: Show's social media accounts turn pitch black to prep for theme announcement?

Evan Peters in "American Horror Story" FX

There have been a lot of talks on what "American Horror Story" season 6 will be all about, but fans may no longer rely on speculations anytime soon.

The profile pictures, cover photos and banners of the official social media accounts--Facebook, Twitter and Instagram-- of "American Horror Story" were all changed to simply the color black.

It is unclear what this means, and it looks like FX is not ready to reveal it just yet. Nevertheless, the accounts going pitch black had some fans thinking that it may have something to do with "American Horror Story" season 6.

Fans started throwing in ideas and theories on what this could mean. Some thought that the next season of the series might play with the idea of total darkness or blackout.

However, it is still very difficult to figure out from there. But since they are already teasing "American Horror Story" season 6, an official reveal might happen really soon.

Rumors about the theme for "American Horror Story" season 6 include a story set in an orphanage. The only thing confirmed is that creator Ryan Murphy wants to incorporate two different timelines.

According to "American Horror Story" staple Evan Peters, production began last week, on June 7, although Leslie Jordan, who confirmed his return for season 6 since "Coven," said he won't be on set until July 7.

Peters will be in "American Horror Story" season 6, but just like his co-stars, he does not have any idea on what character he will play now. The theme is kept a secret even from the cast as well.

However, if he had his way, he'd like to explore his season 1 character Tate Langdon and how he became the mentally disturbed young man he came to be. When the first season ended, he stayed in his bedroom as a ghost after being shot and killed there.

"I want to see what's going on with that animal. [Is] he still in that house, trapped? Or maybe even see him, you know, before everything went totally haywire, to sort of see that lighter side of him," Peters told Gold Derby.

"Maybe a little bit more about what turned him into what he became. I think that would be interesting. I don't know how [showrunners] would do that," he continued.

"American Horror Story" season 6 is expected to premiere this fall.
