The season finale of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" is still giving viewers the chills, but fans of the show are now clamoring to get the details for the upcoming season of FX's hit horror anthology. At this point, it can be surmised based on the show's tradition that the upcoming season will be a lot different from the concept of the previously-concluded one.

FX Network president John Landgraf shared a few spoilers during an interview with TVLine. According to Landgraf, the story of the upcoming season is poles apart from "Freak Show." The network head also claims that he already knows the plot for "American Horror Story" season 5, but he is not at liberty to share it at this point.

"One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast. I think there's going to be an unusually large reinvention in between Book 4 and Book 5 relative to, say, between Book 3 [Coven] and 4 [Freak Show]," Landgraf said.

Meanwhile, actress Sarah Paulson made several statements that set the records straight about the upcoming season of "American Horror Story." According to the actress who portrayed the iconic role of conjoined twins Bette and Dot in the recently concluded season of the show, the fifth season will not be set in outer space.

"I, maybe, know a thing or two, but the great thing about this and the great thing about Ryan is he knows just enough of what to say and you get sort of excited, and then it takes a sharp left turn and it becomes something else. So I have no idea really where it's going to land," the actress said during an interview aired on "Elvis Duran and The Z100 Morning Show" recently.

She also said that she is very confident to say that she has not heard any news about a space-themed season from the series creators.

The plot for the upcoming season of "American Horror Story" is normally revealed during the PaleyFest event in mid-March.
