Expect an extra freaky early Halloween treat from "American Horror Story: Freak Show" next episode, wherein the hit U.S. horror TV series will tackle a creepy urban legend that promises to give viewers a nightmare.

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy shared several spoilers about the show's third episode in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. The episode, which is called "Edward Mordrake," will delve into the myth about a madman with two faces believed to have existed back in the 1950s.

Murphy explained why they decided to feature Mordrake's story for the Halloween episode.

"Well in American Horror Story what we like to do is tackle horror myths and Edward Mordrake is an amazing myth. There are some people who say its real and there are photos online that purport to be autopsy photos and there are other people who say it's not," the co-creator said.

"There was a period based on our research that involved a freak show so that's part of the myth," he added.

Teasers for Episode 3 also mentioned that Edward Mordrake is in Jupiter, Florida and is determined on revenge. He was also part of Ethel Darling's (Katy Bates) horrible past.

Edward Mordrake will be played by "Hunger Games" star Wes Bentley.

Based on the synopsis, several performers in the freak show refuse to work on Halloween night because they are afraid that their songs might summon Edward and his dangerous fury. The twins Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson) think that the story is not true, but Ethel warns them that Edward is real.

Aside from Edward, other cast members will be introduced in the upcoming episode. Emma Robert and Denis O'Hare will be featured as con artists Maggie Esmeralda and Stanley. Maggie will become the love interest of Lobster Boy Jimmy Darling (Evan Peters), much to the dismay of Dot who is secretly in love with Jimmy.

Also, the preview for this week's episode shows Bette and Dot on a surgery table. However, Murphy did not reveal what exactly happens in that scene.

He said, "For the first time it seemed that conjoined twins could be separated. So that's an interesting dilemma for the season: what do you do if you're a conjoined twin and one twin wants surgery and the other doesn't. The surgery back then basically said we have to sacrifice one in order for the other one to live."

The third episode of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" will be the first part of the show's 2-part Halloween special, which will air on Oct. 22. If you miss the episode, be sure to watch it online via live stream on FX.com
