As if Twisty the Clown's death during the previous episode of "American Horror Story" is not shocking enough, series co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed that one of the biggest fan theories about the show is actually accurate.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy divulged that all the seasons of "American Horror Story" are linked with each other.

"They're all connected. We're just beginning to tell you how they're connected. They're all very separate but there's clues every season that we're now telling you how the different worlds are intertwined," Murphy said.

This statement confirms what fans have been speculating after learning that characters from season 2 (AHS: Asylum) will make an appearance in the current season — Lily Rabe will reprise her role as Sister Mary Eunice and Naomi Grossman will return as Pepper.

The return of both characters is part of the huge design for the series. It provides an insight for the bigger picture of the show. AHS is known to feature different plots per season, yet Murphy claimed that they planned to tie all the pieces together.

"But we have always from the very beginning in the intertwining mythologies and how things connect. This is the first year where we begin to tell you that season two is connected to season four which is connected to season one... There's definitely a rhyme or a reason and a connectedness to all of these seasons, but in the same way, they're standalones, which is the fun of it. But it is a puzzle," he shared.

He said that there are purposeful connections that link characters together and will continue to fall into place as the series moves forward.

Aside from the big "linear theory" reveal, Murphy also shared that fans should also look forward to the big clue about the season 5 plot in the last episode of "AHS: Freak Show."

Also, the series co-creator teased that Twisty and the ghost of Edward Mordrake are not completely out of the season just yet. The two mortifying characters will be back in the most unexpected way soon.

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" airs Wednesdays on FX.
