AMD has yet to spill the beans regarding its next Ryzen processors. The chip maker's latest Zen generation of central processing units (CPUs) posed a serious competition toward Intel's Core i series, but according to the latest reports, AMD is planning to snatch the title from its rival as the Ryzen 2 processor will boast a stunning 4.35 GHz clock speed, making the next-gen chip the fastest CPU in the world.

The latest scoop regarding the AMD Ryzen 2 CPU came from the South Korean tech forum HWBattle. The members of the forum may or may not have a direct connection with AMD to feed reliable information to the public. Nevertheless, a user posted the alleged benchmark results of the second-generation Ryzen processor. The most noticeable part of the leaked benchmark listing is that the AMD Ryzen 2 could hit 4.35 GHz clock speed.

The AMD Ryzen 2 is listed as the Ryzen 7 2000 series in the SiSoft SANDRA benchmarking tool. The processor yields speeds ranging from the base clock speed of 2.2 GHz, going up to 3.7 GHz. When the CPU goes with a turbo clock, the Ryzen 2 could hit 4.35 GHz. These values are very impressive, given the capacity of the available high-end CPUs today.

The AMD Ryzen 2 shown in the latest benchmark listing appears to be the successor to the Ryzen 7 1700X processor, considering the former's turbo clock speed and eight-core configuration. To note, the Ryzen 7 1700X could only reach 4.1GHz, which pales in comparison with the rumored Ryzen 2's 4.35GHz. What is more interesting is that AMD's top-end Threadtripper CPU only boasts a maximum 4.2 GHz clock speed. The additional 250MHz in the AMD Ryzen 2 could be used in improving lightly-threaded software applications such as video games.

Aside from improved clock speeds, the AMD Ryzen 2 chips could also see major upgrades in terms of extracting more multi-thread performance. AMD has yet to announce the release date of its next-gen Ryzen processors, although it is rumored that a special hardware debut is already set this April.
