Amber Heard shares new photo with her rumored boyfriend, Tesla founder Elon Musk

Amber Heard appears to have already moved on after her highly publicized divorce from Johnny Depp.

Heard, 31, and Musk, 45, went out in public together for the first time while in Australia, PEOPLE reports. The actress was there at the time to shoot scenes for her upcoming movie "Aquaman." The Hollywood star and the Tesla founder spent Sunday visiting the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in the Gold Coast and were seen walking arm-in-arm through the area. They also held each other's hands and tried out the TreeTop Challenge in the sanctuary where they zip-lined through various courses.

Later on Sunday, Heard made her relationship to the billionaire official by posting an Instagram photo of them together. The image shows Heard resting her arm against Musk, who has a visible kiss mark on his cheek. Heard captioned the photo with one word: "Cheeky."

Heard became the talk of the town last year when her short-lived marriage with Depp ended in a dramatic split. Their divorce was settled in August last year and Heard received $7 million from it. Musk, on the other hand, is best known for being the co-founder of the car manufacturing company Tesla. He has been married three times and now has six children. His divorce from Talulah Riley was also finalized in 2016.

To get more insight about the couple's recent posts, Stuff spoke with Curtin University Associate Professor in internet studies Tama Leaver. He offered some explanation as to why the couple seem to be more open in showing off their relationship unlike most celebrities who opt to keep their personal lives private.

"They're obviously happy with their relationship being public and I think a statement like this often does suggest that there's actually been a bit of history to this relationship, it's something they want people to know about and I don't think you could craft an image better," Leaver stated.
