The first batch of photos from the set of "Alien: Covenant" teases that things are going to be brutally horrifying in the highly anticipated "Prometheus" sequel.

One of the photos is nothing short of a horror show, where a bunch of big alien bodies lie lifeless on the ground of a smoldering planet. The aliens appear to have been killed as they helplessly ran for their lives.

Some of the creatures in the said "Alien: Covenant" photo are alive but are being attacked by an enemy of theirs. Whatever this photo is about, it surely gives the chills just looking at those terrified creatures.

Other "Alien: Covenant" photos show another part of the set, which has various small craters that effectively add to the background of the scorching terrain.

Other elements from the set include large monuments and statues toppled and destroyed. There is even a large carving of a man's face with the top half of it completely razed.

There are also old stone structures with primitive writing impressed on them. All over the place are more statues of the aliens. They look the same as the lifeless ones, although they appear to be alive but are being assaulted.

The "Alien: Covenant" photos were taken from the set of the movie in Sydney, Australia. Although the plot is top-secret, the film hasn't been entirely subtle when it comes to the production.

Actor Michael Fassbender, who starred in "Prometheus," will be back for "Alien: Covenant." The actor described the sets on the movie, via AVP Galaxy as "an old-school element where things look battered, like the original Star Wars."

Fassbender will reprise his role as the android David in "Alien: Covenant." The actor said that the character will come back in "a whole new way."

"Alien: Covenant" chronicles the journey of the colony ship Covenant, who are under the impression that they have found "uncharted paradise" in David's home, only to find out that it's nothing but a "dark, dangerous world."

"Alien: Covenant" hits the theaters August 4, 2017.
