'Aho Girl' manga ends in December

"Aho Girl" is a relaxing slice-of-life manga that follows the adventures of Yoshiko Hanabatake. The manga first started in 2012 and has continued all the way to 2017. However, on Nov. 4, author Hiroyuki announced that the long-lived coming would be coming to an end.

The announcement stated that the last issue of "Aho Girl" would be coming out in December. This final issue would contain 12 volumes that would also be released in the same month.

Hiroyuki also mentioned that they'd come to the decision way back in the summer, around the time the manga was picked up for an anime adaptation. Hiroyuki mentioned that "whatever the result of animation, I was asking from here to let me finish here once."

The author goes on to thank the fans for their continued support. Hiroyuki is also thinking of new ideas for new mangas and no longer thinks they will have the time to work on "Aho Girl". The manga series has gone on for a good five years and Hiroyuki thinks it's time to put it to rest.

Mentions of a possible sequel to the anime were also placed in the announcement, however, none of that has been confirmed and seems to be merely something Hiroyuki has been pondering on.

The anime adaptation of "Aho Girl" premiered in Summer 2017 and aired from Jul. 4 to Sept. 19. The episodes were short, running at only 12 minutes per episode.

Similar to the manga, the anime consists of short running gags and a good splash of comedy. Yoshiko Hanabatake, the protagonist, isn't very smart. She fails classes, gets herself in trouble, and does an assortment of silly things. It's up to her childhood friend Akutsu "A-Kun" to make sure she is kept in line, safe, and kept relatively sane. The anime features A-Kun trying to put an end to his friend's shenanigans, but ultimately getting dragged into the chaos of it all instead.

The anime is 12 episodes long, making it ideal for those who want a quick laugh.
