Something big is about to happen in the 100th episode of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." The upcoming episode 12 of the fifth season marks a new milestone for the hit ABC series, although the fans have no idea about the surprises in store for them. In season 5, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents found themselves in an unfamiliar territory, and they had to risk their lives to return home. Little do they know that the world is no longer the same place as it was.

According to the latest spoilers, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 episode 12 will focus on the trip back home of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his entire crew. Unfortunately, there might have been a little problem in the previous episode as they entered an unknown portal which they believe is the only way home. The most bothering thing of all is the mysterious deal made by Coulson with the Ghost Rider, which could ultimately claim his life.

The promo for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 episode 12 shows the strange rash appearing on Coulson's chest, as well as the ominous message from future Yo-Yo (Natalia Cordova-Buckley), pertaining to Coulson's imminent death. The character has already faced death a number of times since the 2012 "Avengers" film, but Coulson has proven himself to be a tough one to kill. However, his fate might have already been sealed in the 100th episode, especially if Coulson indeed bargained his own life with the Ghost Rider.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 episode 12, titled "Real Deal," is expected to reveal Coulson's bargain with the Ghost Rider. The character made this intriguing deal back in season 4, wherein he allowed the Spirit of Vengeance to take over his body in order to defeat Aida. Back then, no one knows what Coulson offered in exchange for the devil's help. This time around, the extent of Coulson's sacrifice will be determined, although the fans are worried that the special 100th episode could also be the tragic moment for the S.H.I.E.L.D. members.

The 100th episode promo also confirms the return of classic "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." villains such as Lash (Matt Willig) and Hive (Brett Dalton). The purpose of their re-appearance is not yet clear, although it can already be expected that the two will try to exact their revenge on the people who vanquished them in the past, most especially Coulson.

Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 episode 12 will air on Friday, March 9, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
