After the deaths that happened in the explosive midseason finale of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3, the agents and the Inhumans will feel the aftermath when the series returns in March.

In the episode titled "Maveth," Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) decided to kill one of his former agents, Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), who was earlier revealed as the traitor inside the agency. But Ward's death paved the way for the mysterious Inhuman to return to Earth using the deceased agent's body.

During the Television Critics Association party hosted by ABC, IGN talked to the cast and creators of the series to learn more about the upcoming episodes in season 3.

When asked about how Coulson will deal with the repercussions of his decision in the previous episode, Gregg revealed that his character will be deeply affected in the second half of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3.

"What I know so far, it looks like the biggest possible effect, because it works on two levels," Gregg revealed. "On the one hand, it means Coulson having crossed a line that I think he takes very seriously, which is, 'If you're trying to protect the world from evil and you then become evil, haven't you become part of the problem?' That's a little bit what's going on for him, even though I don't think that answer's cut-and-dry in this case."

Gregg also mentioned that things will become more complicated for the agents since Ward's death brings another big nemesis in the series.

"I think the fallout from that is going to be big, although it should provide this brilliant thespian with some unbelievable stuff to chew the planetary scenery with," the actor said.

But while the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are still kept in the dark regarding Coulson's involvement in Ward's death, actress Ming-Na believes that her character Melinda May could be the first one who could understand why he did it because she also experienced doing something for the sake of the majority in the past.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 will return to ABC on March 8.
