'40 Winks' news: Nintendo 64 version of the game to finally have a physical release

"40 Winks," an action game developed by Eurocom and published by GT Interactive for PlayStation in November 1999 will finally have Nintendo 64 (N64) version courtesy of a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign by Piko Interactive on Feb. 12, 2018.

The Kickstarter campaign managed to surpass its $20,000 goal (as of writing, the campaign was able to garner $89,351). Players and collectors alike have 11 reward tiers to choose from, 2 of which are no longer available — The N64 Player Early bird: $44 or more (a complete-in-box N64 version and an early bird discount) and The N64 Collector Early bird: $85 or more (a complete-in-box special edition of N64 version including special artworks, a special edition poster, a special edition POG and a colored collectors cart).

The other 9 reward tier people can choose from include:

  • Contributor: $1 or more (a thank you note either on email on Kickstarter)
  • The Digital Player: $8 or more (a digital PC version of the game)
  • "40 Winks" N64 Controller - Early Bird: $30 or more ("40 Winks" Special Edition N64 controller with an early bird pricing)
  • "40 Winks" Cart Only: $40 or more (N64 game grey cart only)
  • "40 Winks" N64 Controller: $40 or more ("40 Winks" N64 controller at regular pricing).
  • The N64 Player: $55 or more (a complete-in-box edition of N64 version)
  • The N64 Collector: $100 or more (The N64 Collector Early bird tier)
  • The Collector X64 Early bird: $130 or more (The N64 Player and the N64 Collector tiers)
  • The Collector X64: $150 or more (The N64 Player and the N64 Collector tiers).

In the game, players will take on the roles of either Ruff or Tumble who are tasked to rescue 40 winks from Nitekap who is deprived of sleep. Winks are creatures that are responsible for giving people good dreams. 

The Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to end on March 14, 2018, 9:07 p.m. AWST.
