More spy shots showcasing the next generation BMW 5 Series revealed more details about the upcoming automobile that is set for release sometime in 2017.

Dannish website pro-street.dk reportedly saw a rumored prototype of the upcoming 2017 BMW 5 Series Sedan at a gas station somewhere in Germany. Based on the report from BMWBlog in early May, the camouflaged automobile could be the prototype for the 535d of the 535i variant of BMW's upcoming car model.

According to the BMW-dedicated online magazine, the upcoming sedan has been undergoing public testing since last year before it can officially come out in the market. The report also mentioned that several sources claimed that the German car maker is gearing up to release the first photos of the brand-new G30 5 Series this summer, and the automobile will be officially unveiled during the Paris Motor Show 2016 in September.

Meanwhile, Nashville Chatter reported that the upcoming 2017 BMW 5 Series will have minimal changes from its predecessor based on its exterior design. By looking at the spy photos, the report claimed that the new model of BMW automobile will still have a familiar look except for its new bumpers and the redesigned headlights adjoined to the signature kidney grill.

The automobile's interior is expected to look like the mini-version of the BMW 7 Series because of its brushed aluminum steering wheel. However, it will have a new gear level and a new location for the iDrive, which is not located at the car's dashboard just like the ones seen in the previous car models. Based on the spy shots, the new iDrive now looks like a retractable screen.

Aside from the 5 Series Sedan, the new line of BMW 5 Series will also come out with the 5 Series Touring wagon, the 5 Series M5, as well as the 5 Series Gran Turismo.
