Some classic games from decades ago just never get old. One such game is the surrealist adventure game "Yume Nikki," which got its Steam release just recently. Players who have been to the Steam page of the game will notice that there is a teaser for the title. This will lead to what is most likely the sequel to the original game.

AGM Playism, the game's publisher, teased "Yume Nikki: Dream Diary" by placing two trailers and a countdown site on the Steam page. Those who want to see it for themselves can do so by clicking Madotsuki, the protagonist of "Yume Nikki" who is found on the bottom-left of the site. There is also an extended version which is revealed via a link after the shorter one.

The countdown site was actually released via an announcement after people have seen the two trailers. There is not much to be seen on the site as it is only purely a countdown. If there is anything anyone can get from it, the sequel will possibly still feature Madotsuki since the site features her too.

As for the trailers themselves, like the original game, it does not offer anything definite. The long trailer is eight minutes long with six minutes of it just showing dreamy scenes just like the game. The shorter trailer just shows the first few minutes of the long one. It starts off with a television showing colors as if looking for signal. That scene ends with the television static. The whole trailer then ends revealing the title.

According to PC Gamer, if players slow down the short scene of the television static, they can actually see a silhouette of Madotsuki. Although this may mean a lot of things, it supports the idea that the sequel will most likely still revolve around her. After all, the first game never actually had concrete answers. The game's creator himself, Kikiyama, has never said anything about it, leaving fans to theorize freely.

The original game back in 2004 was actually made via an RPG Maker game. Right now, it is on Steam and is for free for those who want to try it out themselves.
