"Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" is the 7th main game in the "Yakuza" franchise. The game was originally slated for a March 20 release, however, there's been a delay and reports have it that it will come out in April 2018 instead.

The announcement was made on the Yakuza Game Twitter account on Feb. 2.

Excited gamers reacted in a positive light, with many stating that as long as the game will not be buggy on the release day, they wouldn't mind waiting an extra month for a more polished and finished game.

Aside from announcing the change in release date, the Twitter post also announced that a demo will be released in the meantime. Players will be able to save their progress in the demo and then transfer their progress to the main game on the day of its release. The post also stated that the developers wished to receive feedback regarding the upcoming demo for "Yakuza 6: The Song of Life."

According to video game news website Game Spot, "Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" will also be releasing a special After Hours Premium Edition. This special edition package will contain limited game-related merchandise, which includes two bar glasses, two coasters, two ice stones, a collectible box and the base game.

The After Hours Premium Edition will be available for purchase for $90.

The "Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" trailer was uploaded to PlayStation's YouTube channel back on Jun. 13, 2017. Approximately one-minute and 25-seconds long, the trailer — although short — gave players a glimpse of the game's plot, art direction and the characters that players would meet later in-game.

The official summary of "Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" reads:

"How far will you go for family? Hoping to quietly settle down after a brief stint in prison, reformed yakuza Kazuma Kiryu returns to find danger surrounding the lives of those he values most."
