Action-adventure video game "Yakuza 6" is one that has been quite delayed for a western release. While developer Sega originally announced last year that the game will be released outside of Japan by March 20, it has been delayed for unknown reasons. The latest announcement now reveals a new date that isn't quite that far from the original.

The new release date for "Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" is now set to April 17, 2018, which is almost a month after the original date. The announcement was made via the game's official Twitter account. As for the reason for its delay, the text image in the tweet admitted it "was a tough business decision we didn't make lightly."

That said, the folks at Sega still bring some good news despite the delay. "This gives us more time to line things up for launch, and on February 27, the demo for Yakuza 6 will be available and will allow players to bring their save into the game on release," the tweet message continued.

The announcement does not mention many details but it is definitely enough for the fans who have been waiting for the game. "Yakuza 6" was originally released as a PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive in Japan back in 2016. By the time the game gets released this year, fans can also expect additional "things" that the developer has lined up for the game's launch.

As for what these things are, details will most likely come out in the next announcements. Fortunately, fans would not have to wait much longer as the developers assured that "We have many new plans to reveal over the coming weeks to give you all more insight into the series, so stay tuned!"

On a minor note, funnily enough, the original announcement on Twitter was actually a screenshot from the iPhone notes app with the same statement, per Polygon. Looks like it definitely was a "tough decision" for them to make.
