Xbox Live with Gold free games for January 2015; Xbox games end of year sale

Xbox has revealed the new roster of free games that Xbox Live with Gold subscribers can download this January.

At the start of the first day of the month, Xbox One owners will be able to download "D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die." The independently developed adventure game centers on the journey a time traveling investigator to stop his wife's death by solving her murder before it happens. He will be able to do it by going back to the past and discovering artifacts known as "mementos" to unravel the truth about his wife's death. The "D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die" game is normally sold for $14.99, but Xbox Live with Gold subscribers can get it for free.

Meanwhile, Xbox 360 can download the racing game "MX vs ATV Alive" from Jan. 1 to 15. This game, which is usually sold for $14.99, features different racing events such as supercross, motocross, and off-road freestyle events. Players of this game have the option of using dirt bikes or four-wheel ATVs that have their own controls and appearance.

Then from Jan. 16 up to 31, those who own an Xbox 360 console can get "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" without having to pay $29.99. The game is described as "massive, combat and story-filled RPG [that's] filled with backstory, deep characters, and plenty of side-quests that will educate you on the nature of the world and the goings-on therein. More importantly, though, The Witcher 2 is an incredibly in-depth game, offering potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay, oodles of character customization options, and countless weapons, armor pieces, and other loot."

Also, there is still a bit of time left this December for Xbox owners to purchase several titles for Xbox One consoles at very low prices. It includes Telltale's "Game of Thrones" Episode 1 for $2.50, "Xbox Fitness Jillian Michaels: Killer Abs" for only $6.70, "The Legend of Korra" for just $10, Telltale's "Game of Thrones" Season Pass for$12.74, the "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition" for $20, "Alien: Isolation" for $30, "Diablo III: Reaper of Souls" for just $40.20, "GTA V" + Bull Shark Card for only $59.50, as well as "Forza Horizon 2 Deluxe" for just $68.

Xbox One users with Gold subscriptions can get "Tales from the Borderlands: Episode One" for $2.50, "Halo: Spartan Assault" for $3.30, "Tales from the Borderlands" Season Pass for only $12.74, "The Walking Dead" Bundle for just $25, "Telltale Games Collection" for only $57.50, "Destiny" Digital Guardian Edition for as low as $67.50, and the "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" Digital Pro Edition which sells for only $80.

Subscribers only have until Dec. 31 to avail of any of these deals.
