Xbox Live Games with Gold April 2016: 'The Wolf Among Us,' 'Saints Row' and more on the list of free games

Xbox One players get "The Wolf Among Us" for free for the Xbox Games with Gold April 2016. Telltale Games/Steam

Microsoft has announced the lineup of free games coming this April to Xbox Live Games with Gold subscribers. As how it has been for months now, Xbox One gamers get all four titles on offer, thanks to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility.

First on the list is "The Wolf Among Us," a highly rated mystery drama graphic adventure that Xbox One-owning Xbox Games with Gold subscribers can download free of charge for the whole month of April.

After tearing through the bloody and bizarre mysteries in the hit episodic interactive, Xbox One players can move on to the rule-free, riot-laden world of "Sunset Overdrive." The open-world shooter will be available to download for free from April 15 to May 15.

Subscribers will be saving a total of $55 with this promotion. That does not even include the pair of Xbox 360 titles they get to try out through the wonders of backward compatibility from the Xbox Live Games with Gold April 2016 lineup.

During the first half of next month, Xbox 360 players with Xbox Live Games with Gold subscription will be treated to a good load of scares and terrors on the house, courtesy of the science fiction survival horror game "Dead Space."

Then come April 15 to April 30, Xbox Live Games with Gold members will get to enjoy action, adventure and vehicular mayhem rolled into one with Volition's open-world hit "Saints Row."

"Dead Space" comes with a regular retail price of $15 while "Saints Row" is priced at $35, which bumps up Xbox One players' savings to $105.

Before the Xbox Live Games with Gold April 2016 lineup officially arrives, gamers ought to make sure they get to download the remaining free titles on offer from last month.

These include the shooter-RPG hybrid "Borderlands," Frogwares' "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment" (before March 31) and "Lords of the Fallen" (up to April 15) for free.
