Xbox Gold news: December line-up, free games available for all premium members

Members of Xbox Gold will now be able to download their December freebies. Xbox Live Gold is a premium service of Xbox that rewards its members, not only with free games every month but with game discounts and the chance to see game demos before anyone else as well.

Here is the first batch of free games available for Xbox Live Gold members.

Co-operative, first-person action game "Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide" is the first game on the list. Coming to the Xbox One, the game is set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe during the end of days.

Players of "Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide" puts players in a city overrun by Skaven. Players will have the option to choose between five different characters, each with varying play styles and personalities. Once players have decided on their main characters, they must then work together to fight off the rat army. Players will have to rely on their teammates' different skills and their ability to work together to survive against their relentless foes.

The game features 13 different playable levels and allows up to four people in each game.

"Tales from the Borderlands" is also coming to the Xbox One. An interactive adventure game set in the iconic "Borderlands" universe, players will take control of con artist Fiona and Hyperion worker Rhys as they struggle to work together and survive all the dangers from Pandora.

Xbox Live Gold members with Xbox 360 consoles will also be getting a free game this December. An action game "Child of Eden" will also be available to 360 players with a penchant for games with an exciting twist.

The second batch of Xbox Live Gold freebies will be available for download Dec. 16.

Xbox One owners will be getting the 30th-anniversary version of the classic "Back to the Future" video game, while fans of Xbox's arcade mode will be able to get their hands on "Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death."
