Another past Xbox title has been added to the over 400 strong roster of games in Microsoft's backwards compatibility program. And it is none other than "Crackdown" -- an open-world action adventure developed by Realtime Worlds and was released as an exclusive for the Xbox 360 console in 2007.

The new game title will be joining the likes of "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings," "Fable Anniversary," and "Forza Horizon" -- which, similarly, have been released as enhanced games for the Xbox One X.

The following games have been improved visually for the Xbox One X -- an enhanced console version of the Xbox One powered by the Scorpio engine, which enables players to play games in 4K. Players who own the console can now choose between an improved or original graphic setting -- which can be found in the menu.

The graphic update primarily improves the aforementioned games' textures and incorporates a better anti-aliasing function, making the game run nine times higher than its original resolution.

The inclusion of this new title brings the total number of games in the enhanced roster to 11. Other popular and highly acclaimed video games released into the lineup are "Halo 3" and "Skate."

Bill Stillwell, Lead Program Manager of the Xbox Platform, said that they are delighted at the support that users are generating for the Xbox backwards compatibility program. He adds that Xbox is designed to be able to play past, present, and future games and that compatibility is a part of their DNA.

"We're thrilled with the continued excitement for Xbox One Backward Compatibility -- the community has played more than 840 million hours of Xbox 360 games on Xbox One. Compatibility is important to Xbox, to developers and their games, and our community. Preserving the art form of video games is part of our DNA, which is why Xbox One is the only console designed to play the best games of the past, present and future," Stillwell emphasized.

Another title in the "Crackdown" franchise set to join the fray later this year is "Crackdown 3," while "Crackdown 2" has not been confirmed for release.

As usual, players who own a hard copy of "Crackdown" can immediately play the game by inserting it into the Xbox console. Meanwhile, for those who own a digital copy of the title, it will automatically be placed in the Ready to Download category of the My Games and Apps area.
