WWE 'WrestleMania 34' rumors: Why Braun Strowman's role is still unsettled

What is Braun Strowman's role at WrestleMania 34? The wrestler is expected to be in a high profile match on April 8,but he has no role on the event so far. WWE/Superstars Profile

Braun Strowman's role in the upcoming "WrestleMania 34" remains unclear to date. The Monster Among Men is expected to be in a high-profile match on April 8, but so far, he has no one to fight with. Now, many fans are clamoring for answers on why he does not have a clear path to the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Apparently, there is a strategic reason for that. Citing Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Give Me Sport reports that Strowman is being seen as an insurance policy for the Universal title match between champion Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.

The Big Dog has been accused of being a "client" of steroid distributor Richard Rodriguez back in January. Reigns has long denied those allegations. However, just in case his involvement leads to a big expose and forces him to be removed from the championship match, WWE needs a backup plan for the big finish for the biggest show of the year. That's how Strowman will be brought into the fold.

On the flipside, if nothing comes from the controversy, then he may end up not competing at all. In this case, WWE may use him as a sideshow attraction instead, although there is a separate rumor that he may join the Intercontinental Championship match. Should this be accurate, Champion The Miz' attempt to defend the belt would turn into a fatal 4-way match with Strowman, Finn Balor, and Seth Rollins.

Another possibility, according to Express, is that WWE may have him compete for the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal again. He may even win this time as a big name like him could help HBO's upcoming documentary about Andre The Giant attract as much attention as possible.

Fans can only hope WWE will finalize his role soon. "WrestleMania 34" will be broadcast live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday, April 8, with the pre-show beginning at 4:30 p.m. EST.
