WWE rumors, news: will Triple H take on Seth Rollins in Summerslam?

Is Triple H going after Seth Rollins for WWE SummerSlam? Instagram/tripleh

Despite the absence of Triple H in the WWE fighting scene, he is still being linked to rumors about a match in the upcoming WWE SummerSlam 2016. This particular match will reportedly involve Seth Rollins.

According to WWE SummerSlam reports, a Triple H-Rollins feud will begin after the latter fails to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship title, which was in the possession of Triple H after Rollins had to give it up due to an injury.

If WWE Battleground 2016 will end as a fruitless attempt for Rollins to regain the title (the odds are it would be), it is rumored that he will turn his attention to the man that let it slip away in the first place – Triple H.

This might lead into a feud that could be settled in August at the WWE SummerSlam. However, at the moment, Rollins has his eye on the prize and will be working for a more realistic way to get the title back.

Meanwhile, it may be good for Triple H to get back into the ring and wrestle as his pursuit for being the next WWE boss might not happen.

WWE legend Bret Hart recently said in an interview that current WWE CEO Vince McMahon is "irreplaceable." He was asked on how WWE will look like with Triple H at front and center.

"I think someday you'll see Vince McMahon's brain in a big, glass jar with a bunch of wires coming out and he'll still be calling the shots," he quipped during an interview with Forbes.

He also questioned the ability of Triple H's other half in The Authority – Stephanie McMahon. "What does Stephanie McMahon know about wrestling? I don't believe she fully understands pro wrestling the way Shane [McMahon] does," the legend said.

WWE SummerSlam will take place on Aug. 21 at the Barclays Center.
