WWE rumors: Are Jeff Hardy and Alberto Del Rio coming back?

There are reports that professional wrestlers Jeff Hardy and Alberto Del Rio are returning to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Hardy has been sidelined due to a torn rotator cuff, while Del Rio reportedly left the company due to its hectic schedule. However, Hardy may just be waiting for a green light from the WWE, and promoter Vince McMahon may hire Del Rio back for the third time.

Hardy reportedly suffered a torn rotator cuff as well as a torn labrum while filming for an episode of "Raw" in September of last year. The pro wrestler took time off for the surgery to repair the damage to his rotator cuff, with the WWE reporting that the surgery was successful.

Now, Hardy's doctors have reportedly given him the green light to return to work. The pro wrestler and one half of the Hardy Boyz duo is now waiting for the approval of WWE's doctors before he can return to work. This is likely a good time for Hardy to return, with Wrestlemania 34 starting on April 8.

Meanwhile, it seems that Del Rio is also on his way back, although there is no official word on his return yet. PWInsider reported that Del Rio was recently spotted at the WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT. While in Stamford, Del Rio also reportedly took the time to see McMahon, adding fuel to rumors that McMahon is interested in getting Del Rio to return to the WWE.

Del Rio is currently signed to IMPACT Wrestling.

This, however, is not the first time that Del Rio will return (if ever) the WWE. The WWE first fired Del Rio in 2014, reportedly for getting in a physical altercation with a WWE employee who made a racist joke about him. He then returned to the WWE in 2015, before departing again in 2016.

When Del Rio left the company the second time around, the reasons were not as clear. It was first reported that Del Rio and the WWE mutually decided to part ways, and that Del Rio had an opt-out clause in his contract. However, Del Rio later clarified that his reason for leaving the WWE for the second time was because of the company's hectic schedule.

If the wrestling star did indeed meet with McMahon in Stamford, then it is possible that McMahon wants him to come back. However, until there is an official announcement from the WWE that Del Rio has returned to the company, these rumors will remain unconfirmed.
