With his upcoming debut at the UFC arena fast approaching, the chances of CM Punk's return to the WWE ring become slim to none.

The retired professional wrestler, whose real name is Phil Brooks and who was hailed as the longest-reigning WWE Champion, has been out of the wrestling company since 2014. But their separation was not a good one, since CM Punk was reportedly disappointed with how Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon served his termination on the exact date of his wedding with former WWE Diva AJ Lee.

The 37-year-old upcoming MMA fighter has also stated after his retirement from the WWE that he has no intention of going back to professional wrestling.

"No, never ever! Never ever ever! They're going to go crazy about that on Twitter, they're gonna like hold me to it and...yeah whatever," CM Punk said in an interview during the 2014 AP Music Awards, as reported by Independent.

But McMahon tried to apologize to Punk when he appeared in an interview during an episode of Steve "Stone Cold" Austin's podcast, saying that the falling out between the company and the wrestler was caused by miscommunication. The WWE CEO also said that he was hoping to work with Punk again someday.

However, the former WWE Champion rejected his apology in an interview with Colt Cabana. According to CM Punk, the apology was just a publicity stunt.

"He just wanted to make sure a TV camera was on him so he could damage-control it. 'Oh gosh, I'm really sorry.' Well, if you were, you would have apologized earlier. If you really wanted to talk to me, you would have responded after I got hold of everyone in the office," he stated.

This time, CM Punk is gearing up for his upcoming fight versus Mickey Gall at the UFC 203 on Sept. 10. Aside from training for his upcoming match, CM Punk is also filming for an upcoming documentary for UFC and FOX Sports that chronicles his journey from his stint in the professional wrestling world to the MMA arena. Director Rory Karpf shared a behind-the-scenes look of CM Punk and his wife while filming for the said documentary.
