WWE news: Big Cass to make comeback this year? Creative department needs to find a new rival for him

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Superstar Big Cass is reportedly making his comeback in the ring soon. Wrestling fans may remember Big Cass suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury last summer while fighting his rival Enzo Amore.

Big Cass was set to be one of WWE's biggest stars and it is obvious that the WWE creative team have big plans for his career and storyline. However, their plans were cut short when the performer suffered an ACL injury during a match in one of last summer's Monday Night RAW pay-per-view episodes.

This was during the SummerSlam 2017 event, when Big Cass was facing Amore. It should be noted that Amore was Cass' former tag team partner, but at that point in their carreers they were engaged in some rivalry.

Big Cass went down, and the bout was cut short when the referee signaled an "X."

The performer was eventually diagnosed with an ACL injury which made him unable to participate in future matches. He has not been prominent on the WWE ever since, although his eventual surgery was successful. Doctors advised Cass not to participate in matches for at least nine months.

While Big Cass was mostly on the sidelines, he was not idle. Recent reports suggest that he is doing very well. He was even spotted in the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Apparently, the performer had been on a path to steady recovery, and he can walk and move around now without any assistance.

Fans predict that Big Cass will be making a comeback on the WWE ring sometime this year.

However, there is still one little problem with Big Cass's comeback, and that is his rivalry with Amore. The latter was fired from the WWE just a few months ago, leaving Cass with no compelling nemesis to return to.

This could be a chance for WWE's creative team to cook up something entirely new for the returning character.
