WWE 2018 news: Ronda Rousey all set to cause a stir at 'Elimination Chamber' before WrestleMania 34

"Elimination Chamber" will serve as the official platform wherein champion Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Ronda Rousey will join the roster of famed female wrestlers in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ring as she signs her contract on Sunday. However, with the very nature of the "Elimination Chamber," it seems that Rousey's entrance will not go without distraction and the cursory serving of physical pain.

Billed as WWE's "most barbaric" fights owing to its cage matches, "Elimination Chamber" will also feature the very first women's face-off on said event. This is precisely why Rousey is entering an all-new terrain, with plenty of female wrestling Superstars already dominating the scene. While the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight champion has already proven herself in the famed octagon-style ring, the four corners of WWE might prove to be a different animal altogether.

As WWE history has already proven, contract signings almost always get interrupted by a potential foe or challenger. The question now for Rousey is not "will it happen?" but "who will challenge her first?" According to Bleacher Report, it would be a toss-up between Charlotte Flair, The Riot Squad, The Bella Twins, or Becky Lynch. Either way, someone is set to attempt to bring Rousey down in their own efforts to make a remarkable TV moment for themselves.

However, no matter what might go down on the 25th will not determine the future for Rousey; her first official match at WrestleMania 34 will. Said fight is rumored to be a mixed team matchup, and according to Forbes, the name being floated around as her potential partner is none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The two famously had a first encounter inside the ring at WrestleMania 31, giving this matchup more sense than the other choices such as Kurt Angle, Shane McMahon or Seth Rollins. However, The Rock's film career may prove to be a roadblock, making Kurt Angle a more probable choice.

This pay-per-view will be the Superstars' last chance to earn a spot at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. The "Elimination Chamber" is set to happen at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, Feb. 25, and will start at 5 p.m. in local time or 8 p.m. EST.
