'World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth' release date latest news: Coming in Summer 2018

Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of "World of Warcraft," announced that it will be launching the game's seventh expansion, "World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth" in summer.

On Nov. 3, 2017, the YouTube account for "World of Warcraft" posted the trailer for "Battle of Azeroth." The seventh expansion will focus on the war between the Horde and the Alliance. The Horde will occupy the new continent of Zandalar while the Alliance will have access to the new continent Kul Tiras. The game will also feature a new set of islands for players to explore and conquer.

"Battle for Azeroth" is now available for pre-purchase at this link. Pre-ordering will give players access to an immediate level 110 character boost and to Allied Races — Highmountain Tauren, Lightforged Draenei, Void Elves and Nightborne. Leveling a character from any of these races will reward players with the Heritage Armour set.

The price of the Standard Edition for "Battle for Azeroth" is $50 and it includes the level 110 character boost. The Digital Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, is priced at $70 and comes with the following bonuses — level 110 level boost, Zandalar Gilded Ravasaur (Horde) and Kul Tiras Seabraid Stallion (Alliance) mounts, Tottle(the baby Tortollan pet), "The Azeroth is Burning" card back (Hearthstone reward), StarCraft II sprays, and Heroes of the Storm Primal Flamesaber mounts (three color variants — green, white and toast).

According to Polygon, however, players who are trying to purchase the seventh expansion are experiencing issues when logging in. Players reported that they are met with a black screen when logging in and unable to pre-purchase. Not long after, the entire "World of Warcraft" server went down, with gamers complaining that all they see is a black scene while their characters went missing. Blizzard responded in a tweet explaining that the blank character screens and character login were due to the "higher server load as characters were race changed and boosted."
