"World of Final Fantasy" was originally released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. This Nov. 21, this Japanese role-playing game will be hitting PC via Steam for the first time.

"Final Fantasy" games are often limited to consoles, but fans of the famous franchise will be happy to know that Square Enix has been broadening its horizons. "Final Fantasy" games are now being released on major consoles and aside from that, the franchise has been branching out to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) territory since "Final Fantasy XIV." Their latest venture into multiplayer is the "Final Fantasy XV" downloadable content (DLC) "Comrades."

According to Slash Gear, "World of Final Fantasy" on Steam will sell for $39.99. While a handful of fans are excited for its PC release, the game has sparked mixed feelings from the fandom.

Unlike the main games in the "Final Fantasy" franchise, "World of Final Fantasy" takes a different and somewhat cuter approach. This is made apparent by the game's art style; instead of the anime-like proportions found in the major game, the characters in "World of Final Fantasy" travel around as much cuter and smaller chibi versions of themselves.

The announcement trailer for the PC version of "World of Final Fantasy" was released on Oct. 31. Players will follow the adventures of the twins Reynn and Lann. The land of Grymoire has fallen into darkness and it is up to them to fight in search of the light.

The game utilizes summons, creatures the player characters can capture, stack and utilize in combat. The ability to customize these creatures and send them to fight for the player has led to comparisons with "Pokémon."

"World of Final Fantasy" shares the same wonderful scenery and unique villains as the other games in the franchise, but the tweaks to gameplay and the rather different art direction have made it its own unique game in the ever-growing "Final Fantasy" franchise.
