"Wizard of Legend" is a fast-paced 2D dungeon crawler that is set to be released sometime in early 2018. The game initially started as an idea on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter. The game surpassed its goal of $50,000 and went on to earn $72,681.

At the end of the Kickstarter campaign "Wizard of Legend" did not earn enough to reach its stretch goal, but more than enough to set production into motion and give its backers something fun to look forward to in 2018.

Even though the game is still in its early stage of production, the game already has an official Steam page. The official summary on the game's page reads — "Every year in the Kingdom of Lanova, the Council of Magic holds the Chaos Trials, — a gauntlet of magical challenges put forth by its strongest members. Contestants that complete all of the challenges and demonstrate superior wizardry earn the right to become a "Wizard of Legend."

Players will play the game by selecting a wizard, and that wizard will then compete in the tournament. They will have to make their way past dungeons and learn new spells in order to survive.

According to Steam, the game will feature rogue-like elements, fast-paced battles, and procedurally generated maps. Items and enemy placement will be randomized — each new level is designed to be unique and challenging.

Aside from that, players will have the chance to face different types of foes, learn various spells, and gather different items to aid them on their journey.

"Wizard of Legend" will also feature local multiplayer. For gamers who will purchase the game, they would explore dungeons and slay monsters in a multiplayer environment. The game will also support both keyboard and mouse controls alongside the Xbox controller.

The game was developed by Contigent99, a two-person indie game team in Los Angeles. Moreover, Contigent99 recently uploaded the game's announcement trailer to their YouTube channel on Nov. 29. The trailer revealed that "Wizard of Legend" would be coming to the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
