While George R.R. Martin remains mum about all details pertaining to "The Winds of Winter," the highly anticipated sixth installment in the best-selling "A Song of Ice and Fire" book novels, theories about its plot continue to surface.

iDigitalTimes recently posted one of the theories regarding an arc in the still unreleased book. According to the post, there is a possibility that House Martell of Dorne will rally behind Aegon Targaryen instead of Daenerys in claiming the Iron Throne.

Aegon allegedly landed in Westeros backed by the Golden Company, aiming to regain the throne once occupied his father Rhaegar but is currently being held by House Baratheon/ Lannister. Since the Lannisters are probably the strongest house in the entire Seven Kingdoms, it would be hard for him to find a Great House to join him in his claims.

Based on the theory, House Martell will most likely stand behind Aegon and the Golden Company, which means that the rulers of Dorne will not support Daenerys Targaryen, the current ruler of Meereen and the only known surviving member of House Targaryen before Aegon arrived.

The theory explained why the Martells will choose Aegon over the Mother of Dragons, saying that the house leader Doran Martell got furious when he found out that Arianne Martell's younger brother Quentyn, who was sent to Meereen to ask Denaerys' hand in marriage, was burned to death.

They will also pick the one who is already in Westeros, since Denaerys is still very far away from King's Landing.

Meanwhile, other rumors claim that the White Walkers will have a more pronounced presence in "The Winds of Winter." It means that the war behind the Wall could intensify in the next book.

None of these theories are confirmed by Martin, which is why readers should wait until the official release of the book that is expected before HBO airs the sixth season of "Game of Thrones," the TV adaptation of the best-selling novels.
